Great British Energy Community Fund: North East community energy opportunity

Hello,

I’m Joe Norman, Managing Director of North East Energy Futures CIC.

We are currently identifying community organisations across the North
East that may have suitable projects for the Great British Energy
Community Fund, and I came across Wolsingham Parish Council while
reviewing organisations in County Durham.

The current fund closes at 11:55pm on 12 November 2026. The North East
& Yorkshire Net Zero Hub is also offering pre-application support,
with its support request expression of interest closing at 11:55pm on
4 November 2026.

The fund can support feasibility work up to £40,000, project
development up to £100,000, and eligible capital projects up to the
lower of £3 million or 50% of total project value.

Eligibility depends on the organisation and proposed project meeting
the live guidance. We have not assessed your organisation for
eligibility and funding is not guaranteed.

If you have a community energy project idea, I would be happy to take
an initial look. Useful information would include a short description
of the project, site ownership or lease position, any surveys or
feasibility work already completed, and approximate annual electricity
use or cost if known.

North East Energy Futures CIC is independent. We do not administer or
approve the fund, and any NEEF support would be separately agreed and
scoped.

If this is not relevant, or you would prefer no further contact from
NEEF, just let me know and I will update our records.

Kind regards,

Joe Norman
